Big Chill Recordings continues its coolly downtempo series with this new collection. This CD depicts a more jazzed-up, occasionally speeded up, yet always calming side to the imprint's multi-musical leanings.

Possibly the best and most varied collection to come on the label yet, the tracks set sail to Flipside's 'Andante' intro and hand glide through Laura B's 'Ice Cold Water', Fragile State's Hammond organ grinding 'The Facts and The Dreams' into a beach bar anthem in the making courtesy of the International Peoples Gang. Some soul drops by to a bass rhythm with AGK before the hooking floor work out 'Skanked' by Leggo Beast. Co-founder Pete Lawrence adds his own Chilled By Nature 'Go Forward/Bubble Mix' and eventually closes the door with a brand new track from Tom Middleton's Amba, saluting his Cornish connection with 'St Ives Bay', featuring haunting strings from Echo.

Says Pete Lawrence: 'My ninth compilation of Big Chill material, iChill, gelled as I finished programming this year's festival. It is made up of a selection of favourite tracks from the last few months - a sort of snapshot of spring into summer 2003. It is probably more chilled than last year's 'Big Chill Loves You' although it has its more upbeat moments too. Thanks to Laura B for helping me sequence the tracks and smooth out the production and EQ'ing to make for maximum continuity. Oh, and for the album title!'
