REVIEWS
Not surprisingly, his music would sound perfect drifting from the speakers at one of his summer events. It’s chilled and electronic, with a pastoral, very English lushness. An aural version of The Enchanted Garden.

If you’ve heard of The Big Chill, then you’ll have heard of Pete Lawrence. Chilled by Nature is Pete Lawrence releasing this four-track EP on his loved Big Chill Recordings. Kicking off with newly signed label-mate Laura B’s mix of ‘Go Forward’, the ‘Solar Powered’ EP immediately makes its mark with some fresh sounds. ‘Cumulus’ follows a more ambient direction – a languid pool of layered synths and resonant vocal effects over bouncing deep bass. ‘The Unfolding’ is an evocative piece of modern soul music, with ‘Funky Pie’ being a taster of sounds to come. Conclusion: exciting and adventurous chilled tunes.

The man behind The Big Chill festivals not surprisingly delivers a very chilled tune. Sounds incredibly like a Thomas Newman score (The Green Mile, American Beauty, Pay It Forward etc) but with a dubby, hip-hop feel.
Straight No Chaser
Pete runs The Big Chill. Nuff said
