CHILLERS’ SPACES: GET STUCK IN

July 22nd, 2004 by

CHILLERS\' SPACES: GET STUCK INEarlier this year we invited Big Chillers to get creative with festival ideas. We were inundated with amazing and wonderful suggestions – but after much head scratching and cups of tea we decided on the following:

BLIND SHEEPDOG TRIALS
Founded and run by: Doug Weir & Stumblefunk
Location: Next to Mixed Media Tent
Times: Sunday Only, Midday – 18.00
Seen ‘One Man And His Dog’? Good. Except there’s no sheep or dogs here, only you. With shouts of ”Awaaaay” and ”Come byyyy” the ‘shepherd’ has to guide the blindfolded ‘dog’ to round up the blindfolded ‘sheep’. Nuts.

CAMPFIRE TALES
Founded and run by: NuPoetics Unplugged
Location: Campfire Chill Space
Times: 9pm – late
As part of the Words In Motion initiative multimedia spoken word collective NuPoetics invite Chillers to join them round the Campfire for a knees up poetry jam. Everyone welcome, budding writers, veteran poets and spoken word newbies.

HUMAN POWERED SPIN ART
Founded and run by: Sarah Johnson & Jason Allcorn from WEmake
Location: In the centre of the top field by the Club Tent
Times: Midday – 19.30′ish
Relive your childhood on a giant scale! Make your own giant trippy swirl spin painting to take home with you with on WEmake’s pedal powered bicycle come turntable device. Brilliantly daft.

HYPNOPUPPY SHADOW SHOW
Founded and run by: Pete Wilce @ HypnoPuppy
Location: TBC (Near 24hr Cafe North)
Times: Midday – 17.00 make your own puppets, 21.00 – Midnight, professional and audience performances, Fri – Sun
Hypnopuppy make shadow puppet shows with a twist. They invite you to let your imagination go wild Blue Peter style with a pair of scissors, a couple of pipe cleaners and some sticky-back plastic.

THE LAKESIDE CROQUET CLUB
Founded and run by: Denis O’Hare, Kathy Johnson and Martin Summers
Location: By the last lake in the Body and Soul field
Times: Midday – 18.00, Fri, Sat & Sun
Big Chill’s Eastnor Castle Lakeside Croquet Club’ (C.C.E.C.L.C.C.) welcome you to at newly prepared lawns in the grounds of Eastnor Castle Deer Park. Old hand or novice, feel free to come along grab a mallet and head out on to the court for a game. Their motto? Keep On The Grass!
