ROB WOOD – A PROFILE

Since the late ’80s Rob has spilt his time between DJing and music journalism. A passionate champion of independent record labels and cutting-edge music, he is ex-editor of Jockey Slut magazine as well as a long-time Big Chill regular. He currently contributes music, travel and health writing to a variety of newspapers and magazines. He has just been commissioned to write a book entitled ‘Teach Yourself How To DJ’ which will be published before the end of the year. He has also just recently helped launch a new highly respected cutting-edge music download store called TuneTribe.com which he is editor of. Between stints DJing at other festivals such as Bestival and London based club nights, he provides A&R services to a number of record labels and music consultancy to leading brands. You can also get hold of his popular ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ compilation albums. The Big Chill remains one of his favourite gigs. “It’s one of the few places you are guaranteed an audience of open-minded music lovers.
