ALICE MCLAUGHLIN – A PROFILE

ALICE MCLAUGHLIN - A PROFILE

We caught up with Alice after the festival…

Did you enjoy your set?
I had a great time. Crew were great and crowd enjoyed it too..the
atmosphere is always great, very relaxed and interested. Might have been
a bit too early for some though at 12pm!!??

What did you think of The Big Chill this year?
My favourite was the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain..and I think
the word had spread from last years performance as everyone seemed to
descend the hill. Emiliana Torrini was also a favourite of mine.

What are you up to now?
I’ve just released ‘Eastcote Sessions’. Details below…

The Eastcote Sessions
The “Live It Like You Sing It” songstress is a rare thing. Recently back from a roadtrip across America, writing for her next album, Alice McLaughlin recorded and co-produced The Eastcote Sessions earlier this year in a three-day stint with some choice musicians and quirky instruments.

This album provides a home for a collection of songs that demonstrate Alice’s wonderful voice, exceptional songwriting ability, and heartfelt honesty. Amidst the atmospheric segues and the idiosyncratic sounds, lie seven songs of uncommon beauty.

You can request copies of The Eastcote sessions and check out the more recent recordings, journey notes, images and progress of a boat made of hair – the road-trip-album-in-the-making @ www.alicemclaughlin.com.
