PUBLIC LIBRARY AT EASTNOR!

July 8th, 2005 by

PUBLIC LIBRARY AT EASTNOR!Just as The Big Chill is an oasis of calm in the hazy days of summer, books can be a soothing therapy to counteract the stresses and strains of everyday living.

Whether a private indulgence, or as part of a group, reading is one of life’s great pleasures – and it’s public libraries that ensure this pleasure is still enjoyed free of charge.

For the first time in its history, The Big Chill will host a public library space at this year’s festival – the only space of its kind at any summer
festival.

Giving Chillers a chance to relax, recuperate and read, the public library space with the Big Chills Words In Motion will also host amongst other things readings from Whitbread Award winning writer Patrick Neate, an Idle afternoon with Tom Hogkinson and his Idler buddies, talks by Charlotte Mendelson and Guardian writer Joanna Briscoe and challenging and pertinent debating on climate change with leading experts and activists from Friends Of The Earth.
