As founder member of electro-romantics AGK, Paul Gathercole was responsible for one of last year’s most beguiling listens – the AGK album The Liking of Things. Informed by the pastoral soundscapes of Talk Talk and the man-machine qualities of Depeche Mode, The Liking of Things has been described as “electro that is quietly epic”. And it is.
Their EP The Shortest Romance made waves, featuring lauded versions of Duran Duran’s Planet Earth and Neon Dog, an eerily moving version of Nick Drake’s fragile Black-Eyed Dog mixed with Kraftwerk’s eternal
Neon Lights.
In his DJ set Paul will be exploring some of the influences that led to The Liking of Things.
