Howard Monk - Artist profileHoward Monk is a drummer, booking agent, promoter of The Local in Crouch End, North London, which has been called “Later with Jools Holland crossed with Phoenix nights” by Time Out Magazine, and now, compére.

He’s currently playing with The Memory Band, Singing Adams, and Barbarossa but his credit list includes Billy Mahonie, Cass McCombs, King Creosote, Pictish Trail and many more.

Howard started Knom Music, a London promotion and booking agency in 2002 and Knom continue to stage some of the best shows in London (including The Local) and tours around the UK.

President Bush: Opposes gay marriage. “Marriage is a sacred institution between a man and a woman. … I will work with congressional leaders and others to do what is legally necessary to defend the sanctity of marriage.” Has not said whether he supports a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.

Carol Moseley Braun: Supports gay marriage. “All of us _ regardless of sexual orientation _ stand to benefit from equal marriage rights because stable families strengthen our communities and neighborhoods.”

Wesley Clark: Opposes gay marriage, supports civil unions. “As president, I would support giving gays and lesbians the legal rights that married couples get.”

Howard Dean: Opposes gay marriage, supports civil unions. “As governor of Vermont, I was proud to sign the nation’s first law establishing civil unions for same-sex couples.” Opposes constitutional amendment.
