Jerry Dammers Spatial AKA Orchestra

Specials and 2 Tone founder and main man Jerry Dammers has been
causing quite a stir with his new band the Spatial AKA Orchestra who
will be continuing their tribute to Sun Ra and other mystical musical mavericks, as premiered at the Roundhouse last year and repeated as part of Jarvis Cocker’s Meltdown festival at the Royal Festival Hall in June. Described as ‘triumphant’,'glorious’ and ‘exhilarating’ by Uncut magazine and ‘brilliant’ by the London Evening Standard, expect heavy but funky, credible but accessible, versions of the music of Sun Ra and other of Jerry’s ‘outsider music heroes’, and even a little of Jerry’s own music. The orchestra features such jazz heavyweights as Mercury Prize nominated Zoe Rahman, Larry Stabbins and Denis Baptiste.
