One of Punk Rock’s biggest (and most charming) hit singles from the late 70s – JILTED JOHN by JILTED JOHN is commemorating its 30th birthday this Summer. To help celebrate, the Jilted One will be making a unique one-off appearance at the Big Chill 2008. Supported on stage by the JILTED JOHN band, and special guest, GORDON THE MORON !

Jilted Jon – The Story

Rabid Records, a new wave label based in Manchester, England, received a recording of "Jilted John", composed and performed by an actor named Graham Fellowes. Rabid released this semi-monologue concerning the woes of a young lover, and were soon so overwhelmed by demand that EMI had to take over its marketing in 1978.

Fellowes slipped into his Jilted John character in media interviews – a few similary gormless appearances on BBC Television’s "Top Of The Pops" pushed the record to number 4 in the UK chart – and necessitated the issue of an album and an "answer" single by John’s rival, Gordon The Moron.
