For over 2 years, long-time friends Matt Edwards (Radio Slave/Rekid) and Joel Martin (Music De Wolfe), have been producing their own brand of modern psychedelia under the name ‘Quiet Village’, resulting in the highly sought after trilogy of releases on New York’s own ‘Whatever We Want Records’, alongside DJ Harvey and Tom Bullock’s ‘Map Of Africa’. The duo are currently working on a much anticipated album expected in the summer of 2007 and have been busy remixing a diverse range of artists from The Gorillaz and James Yorkson to Black Devil Disco Club and Cosmo Vitelli.
The New Year will also see the arrival of the QV label ‘The Village People’, on which Joel and Matt hope to issue brand new material under alternative guises, as well as exclusive music from friends like Phil Mison (Reverso 68/Cantoma) and unreleased sounds from their heroes of the past.
They have deejayed at many prestigious discotheques and events across the globe including Francois K’s seminal ‘Deep Space’ night in New York, The Big Chill and Rob Da Bank’s Bestival.
Their productions and remixes are also getting serious airplay on radio from the likes of Giles Peterson (Radio One), Tim Sweeney (WNYU), Benji B (One Extra), Rob Da Bank (Radio One), as well as in the most respected deejays sets, such as Francois K, DJ Harvey, Richard Sen (Padded Cell), Idjut Boys, Glimmer Twins, Lindstrom & Prins Thomas, Rub N Tug, Trevor Jackson, Todd Terje and more.
