Scarabeus – Danza Antigua
July 2nd, 2007 by sparky
Danza Antigua is a spectacular performance on stilts, based on the Mexican Day of the Dead Festival. Entwined together the living dead sweep across the floor with tangos, salsa and daring acrobatics, surrounded by mischievious spirits flying everythwhere. It’s a larger than life, romantic dance macabre that will fill you with passion! This dramatic performance will transform the venue/tent into an unforgettable gothic theatre ready to thrill and excite all who dare to watch.
Scarabeus creates exhilarating and multi-disciplinary, site-specifc, theatrical performances that push boundaries and challenge pre-conceptions of space and linear narrative, making the familiar suddenly unfamiliar. Using physical and visual theatre, stilts and aerial skills, dance and acrobatics, video and music, Scarabeus’ work relates directly to the environment in which it is performed.
