Fujiya & Miyagi – Biography
Fujiya & Miyagi are three musicans Steve Lewis (Fujiya), David Best (Miyagi), Matt Hainsby (Ampersand).
Steve and David first connected through shared musical interests and Sunday league football and mutual hero-worship of world heavyweight wrestler Kendo Nagasaki, but went on to form a band and name it after Mr Miyagi from The Karate Kid (Wax on! Wax off!) and a brand of record player.
On record, their pulsing electronica belies their twin influences – 70′s Krautrock bands such as Can and Neu! and early-90′s electronica artists like Aphex Twin – while live they blow the roof off with analogue synths and speaker-threatening frequencies.
