Âme – Biography
Where do connections to Detroit, Chicago, New York, Berlin, and Paris all emerge? no it’s not the Frankfurt Airport because this city is even another part of it. Geographically it might not make any sense, but music-wise we are definitely talking about Karlsruhe here. In this little town in very Western Germany all these cities influences join forces in the studio of Frank Wiedemann, and Kristian Beyer, together forming the duo Âme (French for Soul). Their soulful mission to explore far beyond the borders of house music have already captured the attention of all majot peeps involved in present club music. Delivering constant quality, with 12s that are rocking house, techno, and broken beat floors alike, it seemed like a logical move to the next step of releaseing a collection of their winners.
6 years ago, Kristian and Frank first met up through Kristians record shop ‘Plattentasche’ and various gigs in the area. Frank was already experienced with his former project Soul FC (released on FSOJ), and Kristian being a scientific music nerd (in a positive way). They one day decided to tweak the knobs together. They were joined by a third member, Eren Solak, helping out with additional keys, and parts of the compostition from time to time.
Kristian has always been turned on by the likes of Moodyman, Underground Resistance, and Carl Craig, as well as the NYC sounds of Blaze and Metro Area, whereas Frank’s broad spectrum of influences ranges from Chateau Flight, John Terada, over to IG Culture and Jazzanova.
Âmes sound is accessible without ever loosing depth, complexity or a distinct twist. Their inspirations, no matter how diverse, are cleverly quoted but never copied. What started off with a B-side on a sampler for Soulbrother Dixon’s Off Limits series has since shot off to become a coherent success story.
First remix requests from The Trüby Trio, Simone Serritella, Jazzanova, Nigel Hayes, Random Factor, Wahoo, and Roy Ayers enabled the duo to show their various guises under the umbrella of deep house. The story of Âme now continues, pushing the boundaries of new sounds, patterns, and arrangements.

US Fed News Service, Including US State News January 27, 2011 WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 — The White House released the following press release:
First Lady Michelle Obama traveled to Fort Jackson in South Carolina today to be briefed by Army leadership on the consequences of childhood obesity, poor childhood nutrition and the lack of physical exercise on military readiness, and tour the post’s new “Soldier Athlete” initiative. She was briefed by Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, U.
S. Army, Deputy Commanding General for Initial Military Training, and other military leaders on the health issues the military witnesses as new recruits enter training, and the Army’s new nutrition and training programs to address those issues. go to site fort jackson sc
After the briefing, the First Lady toured the post’s dining facilities to learn about the new nutrition initiative of “Fueling the Soldier” and spoke with soldiers about their experiences with the Army’s new nutrition and training programs. Mrs. Obama then addressed the 1st Battalion 34th Infantry’s graduation to celebrate the newest recruits’ achievement with their families.
At initial military training facilities like Fort Jackson, the Army sees firsthand the consequences of childhood obesity and the lack of adequate physical exercise on young adults. These consequences include a higher rate of bone injury due to poor nutrition and a lack of exercise, as well as skyrocketing dental care costs because of high consumption of sugary foods and drinks, as well as a nutrient deficient diet. fortjacksonscnow.net fort jackson sc
According to the U.
S. Army an increasing number of young Americans are too overweight to join the military. Those who do enter the military experience significant changes in exercise patterns and nutritional improvements as they go through training.
As part of their nutritional initiatives, Fort Jackson showed the First Lady their “Fueling the Soldier” program, encouraging soldiers to select “high performance foods” that are fresh and flavorful. In addition, “performance limiting foods” that are higher in calories and impede the success of the “soldier athlete” are being swapped for healthier options in vending machines and dining facilities. This nutrition program, paired with strenuous physical activity, helps prepare our Armed Forces to be strong, resilient and ready to serve.
