Obituary: Lanor Rowe Cannon

Deseret News (Salt Lake City) January 8, 2005 1913 ~ 2005 Lanor Rowe Cannon passed away peacefully on January 5, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 91.

She was born in 1913 Bingham, Utah to Paul Hailstone and Rachel Gordon, but spent her early years in Logan. At age 15, she moved to Butte, Montana, where she later married Matthew Rowe. By 1950 they were living in Grand Junction, Colorado where Matthew passed away in 1965. website grand junction colorado

In 1966, Lanor moved to Bountiful, Utah. She worked on Temple Square and she later managed the Lion House. In 1968 she married Quayle Cannon who also preceded her in death.

Lanor lived a life full of service to her family, church, and community. She was known for her good judgment and her unusually positive personality. website grand junction colorado

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Christensen and Kathy Wright, a son, Robert Rowe, four brothers, Alvin, Lester, Todd, and Dean Hailstone, 14 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. The family is pleased that she has lived well and we are confident of her place in the eternities.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10 at the Bountiful 26th Ward chapel, located at 200 North and 200 West in Bountiful. Viewing will immediately precede the funeral from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m.
