Who are you?
John Metcalfe – a viola player/composer.
What have you been working on lately?
Getting the set ready for the album launch on the 24th September.
What are your current top 5 tunes?
Stravinsky – Rite of Spring.
Steve Reich – Different Trains
The Proms on Radio 3. Unbelievable music, performance and sound. Free.
Blind Mary – Gnarls Barkley
Still lots of Burial. I know he’s suddenly really famous (well deserved) but it’s still undeniably brilliant.
What things would your ideal bar have to have?
No violence or attitude ever ever ever
Beautifully eq’d soundsystem
Elderflower cordial
No sound of crashing bottles as bar staff hurl them into the bins.
Describe your ideal evening chilling at homeā¦
Moving house to the shoreline, opening the window and falling alseep listening to proper waves.

Tent for the sound of rain. B+B for the fry-up. Hotel for the hot water and shower.

Standing in front of a very large crowd of friendly faces late one Sunday night……
