Ah, yes those lovely cinematic chaps from Sheffield Animat, have gone and surpassed themselves again and released an EP of outstanding natural beauty in the form of The Riverbed Road Remixes. Available now on iTunes and all good digital music portals for those of you who are on a mission to save the planet by downloading their music whilst simultaneously affirming producers of quality music.
For those of you who are not aware of Animat through either their brilliant debut album ‘Earplay’ or through their previous critically acclaimed Eps ‘Heart Shaped Balloons’, ‘Artic’ and ‘Sunshine or Rain” Animat are most well known for their forays into cinematic live rescores and have garnered a reputation for excellence via their re-interpretions of Sylvian Chomet’s award winning animated film Belleville Rendez-vous, David Lynch’s classic film, ‘The Straight Story’ and Veit Helmer’s dark comedy ‘Tuvalu’ at this years Big Chill .
The remixers on this EP include Just Music superstars Laroca and Echaskech, Sheffield’s up and coming DJ Winter North Atlantic and mysterious German/Brazillian producers Santa Cruz Musique and features the amazing vocal talents of Lisa Palmer and Anne Garner on flute.
