Who or what inspired you to start DJing?
A combination of things really. My good friend Ed Funk got me more deeply into the world of funk and hip hop, we became a dj team once we’d learnt the basics. There was a crew in brighton called “Knowledge of self” and a Dj Called “Mex” (now known as Black Grass). Those guys opened my eyes to the world of turntablism as well as the film “Juice” which also inspired me loads even though all the dj battles in the film were actors “scratch miming” over Jazzy’s Jeff’s cuts.
If you could DJ back to back with another DJ (living or dead) who would it be, and why?
Ummm…. Maybe Kool Herc, as he started the whole hip hop style of djing.
What’s been your best DJing experience?
It’s hard to pick one, it might have to be Field day in Sydney on New Years Day 2004. It was with Krafty Kuts and Kurtis Blow and we followed Groove Armada to close the show in front of 25,000 people. That was pretty special!
And your worst?
Hull Revolution Bar, Mainly because I had driven for 8 hours to get there, only to find I wasn’t meant to be there until the following night! After killing 24 hours in Hull, on the night they had hired a massive bucking bronco and put it in the middle of the dance floor so there was no room to dance!
Where’s the best place you’ve DJ’d?
Has to be between Cova D’en Xoroi “the caves” in Menorca where I have a summer residency and Shambhala Festival in Canada.
Describe your ideal evening chilling at home…
Curry (with Eastenders) followed by wine and a couple of episodes of Lost.
Where is your favourite place?
Home
What are you reading these days
The Logic 8 User manual.
Who would play you in the movie of your life?
Will Ferrell
At a festival - tent, B&B, or hotel for you, and why?
Hotel, I’m not big on setting up tents although I have done a bit of camping over this summers festivals.
What was your best Big Chill moment?
This year was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it ,but I think when I dropped Chicago’s “Street Player” on that outdoor stage it was a pretty special moment.
Describe the essence of The Big Chill in a few words…
Amazing Music, Amazing Setting, Amazing Festival.
I’m just on my way to the bar - what I get you?
A Mojito please and tell them not to cut up the mint leaves too small or they’ll get sucked up the straw!

Is there anything else we should know?
