Win Tickets To Videocrash 2
January 9th, 2009 by sparky
Videocrash returns to Koko on Saturday 7th February, for another storming night of hot AV action, with a stellar line-up featuring Hexstatic, Bomb The Bass, DJ Food & DK 4 deck DVJ set, VDJ Cheeba, Subsource, Octavcat, and The Beaufort Scale. Phew!
Newcomers Octavcat and The Beaufort scale will be kicking off proceedings with full AV sets; Subsource will get the room dancing followed by Bristol’s best (and DJ Food’s favourite) DJ Cheeba and a brand-new, 3 deck AV set; Strictly Kev & DK hit the Videocrash stage with the sequel to September’s jaw-dropping display; the simply legendary Bomb the Bass bring a new AV set to go with a new album; and the Grand Masters HEXSTATIC roll back in on the back of the release of their new DVD/CD ‘Videos Remixes and Rarities’.
Soundcrash Productions are offering two tickets for the night to the lucky prizewinner, plus the Hexstatic DVD/CD ‘Videos Remixes and Rarities’ compilation and the new Bomb the Bass CD ‘Future Chaos’. Two runners-up will each win copies of the Hexstatic DVD/CD and the Bomb the Bass CD.
All you have to do to enter the prize draw is answer the following question:
Q: Which Hexstatic video features three men in gimp suits flying around in a wind tunnel?
Send your answers to jo@hexstatic.tv before midnight on 2nd February, with the subject line ‘BIG CHILL VIDEOCRASH COMPETITION’. The winner and runner-up will be generated randomly the following day.
Hexstatic Presents: Videos Remixes Rarities
Please be upstanding and prepare to freak in a monstrous funk ‘n’ vision explosion, because on December 1st, Big Chill favourites Hexstatic, the original kings of audio-visual mayhem, release ‘Hexstatic Presents: Videos Remixes Rarities’ a DVD/CD collection of some of the very best of their work. Covering over 10 years, there is more wit, invention and electronic funk contained within than in a lifetime of watching MTV. The DVD contains the pick of Hexstatic’s AV videos going back to early experiments with Coldcut including the Natural Rhythms Trilogy 1996-98, on through cut-up classics like “Ninja Tune”, through world psych-funk on “Salvador” and up to the computer animation of their later work. Seriously, it’s like “Why Don’t You..?” where instead of you having to do anything, someone else does it for you.

Watch with mother, or on your own, or invite friends round for a kind of Tupperware party except way better. Do it now. You won’t regret it. The rest of your life is empty and hopeless and maybe this offers a way out. If not, there’s always robot sex…
