Boy Crisis - Biography
Boy Crisis combine the witty, post modern pop lyrical sensibility of Pet Sop Boys or LCD Soundsystem with the sweaty strutting groove of 80s funk luminaries like Prince and Zapp. A band of self-confessed geeks “but you know, cool geeks into music and comic books” - as singer Victor says, Boy Crisis have all the hallmarks of a classic New York band.
Following in the footsteps of Gotham’s other similarly high concept disco rock dilletants like Kid Creole, Chic, ESG, Talking Heads and Blondie, Boy Crisis make their own brand of electronic arthouse funk that sounds both smart and sleazy, intelligent and hedonistic.
Already building a cult audience in their home turf of Williamsburg, Boy Crisis recently stole the show at Iceland Airwaves and also supported Brooklyn-buddies MGMT at their Halloween show in New York.
