Easy Camping at The Big Chill 2009
March 10th, 2009 by sparky
There are several options for sleeping at The Big Chill 2009 - you can bring your own tent to camp (you can check out the locations of all the campsites here), bring a camper-van and stay in the Live-in Vehicle Field, or if you don’t own a tent, or perhaps you want to lighten your load and avoid erection stress with a bit of luxury camping, then we have an array of choices available for you at this year’s festival…
If you plan to take advantage of any of our four fantastic Easy Camping options and you are traveling by car, please book a Blue Car Park Ticket.

Podpads and Bellepads
‘Podpads’ are “home from home” - quirky hobbit-houses solidly constructed from weatherproof plywood, which are offered ready and furnished for your arrival. They come pre-decorated, with a solid floor and fitted carpet, shelving, interior lighting and a 12v power socket as standard, with a vanity mirror and a lock on the front door. Double or twin beds (with mattresses to suit) are standard, so creating useful storage space underneath. Three sliding, tinted windows with curtains provide ventilation and light, allowing you to look out whilst maintaining privacy. The eco-friendly ‘podpads’ are solar-powered by the iconic sunflower solar panels. ‘podpads’ are weatherproof, relatively soundproof, secure, safe, dry and cosy.
‘Bellepads’ are traditional heavy-duty canvas British bell tents. They measure 4mts across and stand 2.5mts high around the central pole. They come with fitted groundsheet and carpet, and are supplied with four inflated air-mattresses. Ideal as a base camp for the family or, for a group of up to four friends wishing to share living space.

If you wish to bring your own tipi/pod etc, and if you’ll need to carry it onto the site by car, then you will require a LARGE LIVE-IN VEHICLE PASS (£50). These are available from Ticketline.
