Ben Norris - Biography
From his humble comedy beginnings as the promoter and compere of a monthly comedy club in Aldershot circa 1993, Ben Norris has become a regular headliner on the UK comedy circuit and has performed around the world in Prague, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, South Africa,Abu Dhabi,Dubai,Singapore,Manilla,Bangcock,Tokyo and the Isle of Wight.
As well as regular appearances at music festivals like Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Ben has performed stand up on various TV shows including The Stand Up Show (BBC) Gas (CH4) The Comedy Store (Paramount & CH5) “The World Stands up” (Paramount)
Back in 97/98 Ben hosted a weekly music and entertainment show on MTV. In 1998 he performed his first full solo Edinburgh show Sitting Room Only which was a sell-out success.
Other TV appearances where Ben has flashed his dimples include Singles Night (BBC Choice), 100 Greatest childrens TV Shows (CH4),”100 Greatest Musicals” (CH4) They Think It’s All Over (BBC1), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), and “Mock the week” (BBC2)
Ben is a regular favorite TV audience warm up man for the likes of Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton, as well as on “Mock the Week” and “8 out of 10 Cats” and has written gags for Paul Kaye on BBC 2’s Liar and Jimmy Carr for *Your Face Or Mine (E4). Ben has also warmed up an entire series for “Joan Rivers”
Surely it’s only a matter of time before Ben is as popular and famous as his cousin actor Martin Freeman (Tim in ‘The Office’) …surely!
