Helios – Biography
Raised rural Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Keith Kenniff started playing drums, guitar and bass at a very young age. In 2006 he received his BA from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied composition and percussion. During this time he began writing electronic music under the moniker ‘Helios’ and in 2004 released his debut album, Unomia, on Merck Records. In 2006, the critically acclaimed album ‘Eingya’, released on Type Records and a year later he released an EP focusing on his use of vocals named’Ayres’. His third album ‘Caesura’, a return back to the musical landscapes of Eingya, was released on Type in 2008. Keith also records and performs music for solo piano under the name Goldmund for which he has 3 releases on Type, including the most recent album ‘The Malady of Elegance’. He has also written music for Honda, MTV, Duetsche Telekom, Audi and others, and can be heard on a number of documentaries and films such as Harmony Korine’s film “Mr. Lonely”.
