The Big Noise - more names announced!

We’re delighted to announce that Lindstrøm (who we hear is fast closing in on Henrik Ibsen and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Norway’s ‘poster boy of choice’) will be performing a rare live set at this year’s festival, when he spearheads Horse Meat Disco’s Saturday night takeover in The Coop. Elsewhere on the bill is Lindstrøm’s Smalltown Supersound label mate, the highly rated Kim Hiorthrøy. US uber-label, DFA, will be showcasing a trio of talent, including The Juan Maclean, LCD Soundsystem’s Tim Goldsworthy and the Beats In Space head-honcho Tim Sweeney.

Metro Area a.k.a. Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani, fresh from two storming new mixes for Fabric and Radio 1, will be taking to the stage in The Coop and Mr Re-edit himself, electro-funk pioneer Greg Wilson returns, hot on the heels of his triumphant Essential Mix, as well as Radio 1′s longest serving DJ and seasoned festival luminary, Annie Nightingale.

The sound of the southwest will be heading up the motorway to Eastnor with Bristol Hi-Fi; Massive Attack’s Daddy G, Bristol stalwart Queen Bee, mash-up maestro Mr Benn and mic-master Souls Liberation – a crack team of talent, responsible for moving the hips and feet of party people here, there and everywhere.

Prepare to bear witness to the biggest patriarchal throw-down since Luke took on Vader, when Don and Jet Letts go head to head (or deck to deck). We can’t guarantee Lucas-style special effects, but we’re sure that you’re going to feel the force of some mighty bass reverberations.

Who else is there…hmmm…oh yeah, party-party hip hop DJs The Nextmen with their favourite be-capped hype man MC Wrec rocking spots, the 11 person strong Doom Disco peddlers Chrome Hoof dressing up like Obi-Wan Kenobi at Studio 54 and Dalston’s finest live dubstep purveyor, Bass Clef driving all the cowbell lovers and the whistle crew bananas!

But that’s not all, as they’ll also be joined on the line-up by;

Aldo Vanucci
Benny Page
Congo Natty
Futureboogie DJs
In Flagranti
Jazzsteppa (Live)
Kode9 & MC Spaceape
Parker AKA P Zilla
Smooth & Turrell
The Heatwave
Tomb Crew

As well as this more dance-orientated line-up, we’ll be announcing some very special names for the stages imminently, but in the meantime here’s a sneak preview of some of the live acts, including Malian duo Amadou & Mariam, brass band urban fusion from the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, acoustic performances from James Yuill, Kathryn Williams and Joana & The Wolf, as well as;

Erik Truffaz feat. Sly Johnson
Grasscut
Helios
Music From The Penguin Cafe
Oren Marshall
Sneaky

This just in from Underbelly…

Tim Minchen, one of Australia’s finest musical and rambling comedians will be joining this year’s Underbelly line-up in Big Chill Nights. As one of the most successful ever debut acts at the Edinburgh Fringe and winner of Perrier’s Best Newcomer Award, make sure you circle the name in your Big Chill programme, which you’ll be able to pick up onsite from our friends at The Big Issue.
