Feel Like A King…Pluck A String is the confident and pristine debut album of Berlin based Mancunian Simon ‘Sneaky’ Houghton. The album introduces you to the world of ‘wood hop’ where real instruments and genuine virtuosity, collide lovingly with samples, production anarchy, DJ brainwaves, jazz chops and some ace collaborations. The album also features the enigmatic vocals of Berlin based leftfield diva extraordinaire Barbara Panther on the title track ‘Feel Like A King” best known for her work with the minimal electro label Shitkatapult.
Feel Like A King …Pluck A String is available through all good physical and digital retailers. Here is the 7 Digital link
The first single from the album ‘ Mental Origami” (out April 2009) is a stunning journey into cerebral hip-hop and spoken word. Many of you will know RQM  via Tape records, Jahcoozi or via a DJ Shir Can comp. Mental Origami has also been remixed to great effect by the legendary Graham Massey.Â
Mental Origami is available through all good physical and digital retailers.

About Sneaky…
Sneaky was classically trained from an early age and realised from the start that he needed to create his own identity. After many years of formal training on cello and double bass and the completion of a music degree at Manchester University, he became involved with forward thinking club nights Headfunk and Eardrum alongside a young drummer named James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco), and resident djs Mr Scruff, Andy Votel and Mark Rae.
By 1997 Sneaky was heavily involved with Mark Rae’s Manchester based label Grand Central as a live session musician touring extensively around Europe and Australia with the Rae and Christian band.
A session with fellow Manc, Mr Scruff in 99 produced a cheeky dance floor classic ” Get A Move On” and the following year Sneaky formed FINGATHING with fellow Rae and Christian band member Peter Parker after jamming together in the downtime of rehearsals. There then followed 7 years of worldwide touring, 3 album releases, numerous singles and eps released through Grand Central and Ninja Tune.
With a pedigree like this it was only a matter of time before the mighty Sneaky would celebrate his love of music with a solo offering of his own. Feel Like A King…Pluck A String as well as being a literal lifestyle statement and philosophy of the man himself; is a listening experience that brings together an eclectic array of musical strands to represent an emerging new genre, namely ‘wood Hop’. Wood Hop is jazz for the electronic, mashed up, sample savvy, forward thinking, beat driven generation. Feel Like A King…Pluck A String is the manifesto. Get ready to join the party.
