John Metcalfe - Curates Beyond The Loop 2009

September 4th, 2009 by Eugenie

standingFollowing the success of last year’s Beyond The Loop shows at Kings Place, Big Chill Label artist and composer extraordinaire, John Metcalfe, returns as curator with an exceptional programme for 2009.

The artist-led programme has been designed to highlight how musicians from different backgrounds can collaborate. Highlights include the world renowned Duke Quartet, Plaid, the Durutti Column and electro pioneer Jon Hopkins. The event culminates in a live composition between Simon Hale, The Bays, John Metcalfe and The Heritage Orchestra.

Fresh from Manchester International Festival, the Durutti Column will present their tribute to Factory founder Tony Wilson ( A Paean of Wilson ) for the first time in London.
