Two weeks left to get your early bird tickets!

December 18th, 2009 by

Chris Coco's Melodica mix 01/11/10

Hello!

Christmas is just around the corner (which means you don’t have long left to get your early bird tickets!) and here at BCHQ we’re brimming over with festive joy. As it’s the season of goodwill and all that, we’ve got some great festival freebies to share with you, including some DJ action from Big Chill Radio, more exclusive Campfire Sessions videos, a new download single from Lamb’s Lou Rhodes and some great videos from Rizla’s Invisible Players.

Meanwhile, we’re getting well and truly stuck into our plans for 2010 and seem to be spending more and more time in a strangely quiet (and wet) field in the Malvern Hills, working out just what’s going to be going where… but more news on this in the New Year!

We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the latest additions to the BC fold, at our new bar in Bristol, for beating off some fierce competition and winning Venue magazine’s Top Banana award for ‘Best Bar in Bristol’. Not bad considering they only opened the doors in October!

We’ll be back in the New Year. We hope you have a great festive season!

Lots of love,

The team at BCHQ.

Katrina wins the Lifetime Achievement Award

Our co-founder and creative director, Katrina Larkin, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK Festival Awards 2009, by longtime Big Chill friend, Coldcut’s Matt Black. The award was given to mark Katrina’s outstanding contribution to both the UK and international festival market, and in recognition of her position as a woman on the top tier of an industry largely dominated by men. Find out more here.

Here at BCHQ, we’d like to extend our personal congratulations to Katrina and raise a glass to the next fifteen years!

Festival nostalgia

We’ve been busy uploading lots of lovely content from this year’s festival to our website to help us think warm thoughts through the cold winter months. We’ve added more photos, some footage of Rizla’s Invisible Players hard at work, as well as some new Campfire Sessions from acoustic Ninja, Fink and those horn-playing blood brothers, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Enjoy!
