Andy Smith’s Jam Up Twist heads to Bristol

January 5th, 2010 by

andysmithDJ Andy Smith and John Stapleton join us at The Big Chill Bar on Friday 22nd January for a brand new regular Bristol residency! This will be Andy Smith’s first Bristol residency for many years and will run monthly from the 22nd January.

DJ Andy Smith – ex tour-dj with Portishead and compiler of numerous mix CDs, including ‘The Document Series’ (FFRR, Illicit, Sanctuary), ‘Andy Smiths Northern Soul’ (BGP). Trojan Document (Trojan) – returns to his home town of Bristol to start a rockin’ new night. After having succesfully run a night of 50′s Jump Blues, Rockabilly & Northern Soul at Madame Jo-Jo’s in London for over 3 years on a Saturday (alongside DJ Keb Darge) Andy is keen to bring the same vibe to various venues across the UK on a Friday night (Andy is already running a succesful ‘Jam Up Twist’ monthly Friday session in Leeds). The night also features local DJ legend John Stapleton, as well as jumpin 50′s blues, monster Northern Soul dancers, rockin’ rockabilly and scorching ska sides and will be a perfect night for the rare record collector or somebody just out for a great night out!
