Friday 19th February - You Can Call Me Pelski
Friday 19th February sees the beginning of the long-awaited You Can Call Me Pelski club night. Since its inception three years ago, the Pelski blog has gone from strength to strength, refusing to post anything but cutting-edge music.
Now the Pelski crew have put together a formidable line-up for their first event at The Big Chill House - with two of the biggest names ripping up the UK bass rulebook. Our headliners - Rustie and Roska - have been hugely influential in pushing the UK bass scene forward and shaping the urban dubstep-dominated soundscape of 2010.
Support comes from none other than London’s up-and-coming Boog-A-Loo Crew and
You Can Call Me Pelski co-writer and DJ, Charles Darkly, who will be warming things up with a diverse mixture of cutting-edge beats: expect anything from dark techno and percussive house to upbeat tribalism or moody future-garage.
8pm - 3am
Friday 26th February - Slipped Disco’s UFO
Slipped Disco’s new bi-monthly DJ and live club night, UFO, spins back into orbit with seminal guest DJ Justin Robertson dropping a trademark eclectic set alongside Milo Smee, co-founder of psychedelic acid funkers Chrome Hoof. They’re joined by the critically adored My Toys Like Me playing live. Of the moment band, Kan’t (an un-super group formed out of former members of They Came From The Stars I Saw Them, Les Hommes Du Train and Coco Electric), will bring their improvised set to the top floor, turning the upstairs of BCH into a live dance floor, while resident DJs Ben Osborne and Horton Jupiter will be keeping the night awash with wigged out grooves.
Slipped Disco’s UFO looks outside the norm for inspiration, embracing the current crop of prog grooves, percussive house, cosmic techno, dancefloor rock and Funk b-lines and seguing them, in true a prog spirit, into one ridiculously over blown anthem.
8pm - 4am
