Boutique Babysitting

For anyone who’s ever considered taking children to a festival – or for those that already do – a new childcare company has entered the festival scene to provide a bespoke, festival-friendly babysitting service. For the first time, parents can enjoy a care-free festival experience; content in the knowledge that their children are safe and professionally cared for, whilst the kids enjoy a fun-packed “mini festival” of their own at the Boutique Babysitting kids club.

This year at The Big Chill, Boutique Babysitting will create its very own, fully-functioning kids club area, housing two large tipis, fully decorated and equipped with soft rubber flooring, blankets, bean bags and pillows. Climate controlled, the tipis will ensure children are kept cool in the day, and warm and cosy at night.

Parents will be given the chance to drop off their little ones at a choice of two 4-hour sessions, hosted by fully qualified childcare professionals, who will lead children on a magical festival journey – creating an environment that will stimulate their imagination as part of a range of age-specific activities. Children will be invited to explore and experiment with their own music studios, production, wardrobe and stage areas; make new festival friends; play games and generally enjoy some parent-free fun at their very own fringe festival.

Boutique Babysitting is the brainchild of seasoned festival-goers Lisa Merrick-Lawless and Selina Cope. Having attended many festivals over the years, both with and without children, the pair discovered the opportunity to enhance the festival experience for both parents and children through the provision of a babysitting service tailored to the unique environment of a festival.

Lisa Merrick-Lawless, Co-Founder of Boutique Babysitting, commented: “We hope to add a little extra something to the experience of these fantastic family-friendly festivals. Like every parent that’s ever taken their child to a festival, we know exactly what it is like: you love having your kids there but even the most dedicated parent needs a break sometimes! With Boutique Babysitting we wanted to offer parents that precious respite from looking after their children 24/7, whilst giving children some amazing festival memories of their very own kids club.”

Sessions are available in four-hour blocks, costing £48 per child. Parents can choose between a morning and an evening slot (7.00am -11.00am and 7.30pm-11.30pm) that will enable them some freedom and time to explore, relax, catch the festival’s acts – or simply sleep. The fenced-off area will be fully secure with a security guard on the entrance at all times. With a rigorous check-in and check-out procedure, requiring photo ID and wristbands, Boutique Babysitting offers the comfort of knowing that all children are 100% safe at all times. Furthermore, each child will be assigned a dedicated key worker with a 1:5 carer to child ratio, to ensure each child gets the benefit of the key workers’ full care and attention.

Parents must pre-book ahead of each festival as places are strictly limited to 60 children per session, with each child able to attend a maximum of one session per day.
