Cutting-edge productions sit alongside contemporary classics and a child-friendly daytime schedule in the Cinema Tent, complimented by a series of cinematic workshops and interactive activities. Alongside gems lovingly sourced by ourselves, we’ve invited some very special programmers to take you to the movies this year – The BFI, who be returning to the Big Chill festival to present a selection of cinematic and audiovisual delights and suprises; including a selection of highlights from the forthcoming BFI Southbank season “Future Human”, an exciting and eclectic survey of the human condition in Cinema. Also returning this year on Saturday night, and looking a little bit more human this time, are Warp Films, who had this to say “Last year’s film collaboration resulted in a zombie world record and a post-apocalyptic drive-in cinema. We had to come back for more!”

Blimey! As an 8 year veteran of the festival I’ve seen it change beyond belief, but the line up keeps bringing me back. Last year was (once again) going to be my final Big Chill, but once again acts on offer look too tempting to resist. Damn you Big Chill…. now where do I get a ticket? Just remember to lock up your valuables people…

  3. martin Says:

Looks like a good start we need some more quality acts, live acts bon iver, fever ray, future sound of london, Bill callahan. just to mention a few. great cant wait.

This all sounds like a winner but I really do fancy the dance tent to be a bit more motivated this year… A return to the detroit sound of a few years back would really get me excited so Ritchie Hawtin and Jeff Mills etc would be a treat… keeping things classic an all that!
