Saturday: Liars on the Clash Stage

August 8th, 2010 by

liars_new

The best and most appreciated quality of a band such as Liars is the sheer weight of the noise they make and how bearable they manage to make it. So much so that it is, in fact, quite the experience to see the group play live.

Despite clashing with the ultra-popular headliner M.I.A., Liars drew a dense crowd and showcased their huge art-rock talents upon the Clash Stage. Frontman Angus, forever the entertainer, jerked about erratically to songs selected from mainly their latest album Sisterworld such as ‘Scissor’ and the looming, terrifying ‘No Barrier
Fun.’

Liars are an acquired taste for sure, but they exude leftfield creativity and modernity – something The Big Chill strives to embrace every year.

liars without doubt the highlight of 2010 though it was a shame they didn’t have a bigger stage (clash) to express themselves more fully and as for in a flat field cover i doff my cap a most excellent set currently listening to them on spotify cranked up with headphones on brilliant
