Friday: Fiction play Sailor Jerry’s Ink Bar
August 7th, 2010 by sparky
East London four-piece Fiction brought a very British, very London-sounding cool to The Big Chill. The band have released previous singles through Off Modern and are becoming more well-known following their warehouse gigs in and around London.
Their sound is defined by Robert Smith/Wild Beasts-style vocals, over-pronunciation powered by quick and precise standing drumming from one of the very dapper young members.
Fiction certainly offer a more refined sound to a lot of the student art junk that East London churns out. They are well-rehearsed and distinct; beyond all, they know their sound, their style and method quite thoroughly. A really fresh act to check out this year. Alexandra Pereira
