Saturday: Easy Star All-Stars on The Revellers’ Stage
August 8th, 2010 by sparky
The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Radiohead have all had the ‘Easy Star’ treatment and tracks from ‘Dub Side of the Moon’, ‘Radiodread’ and ‘Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band’ were featured in abundance.
First to come was, ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’, and ‘Lucy in the Sky’ before the Floyd took over with back to back ‘Money’ and ‘Breathe’. The tent was shaking from skanking when the most dance inducing version of ‘Paranoid Android’ was played. The lyrics, “The panic, the vomit” never sounded so sexy.
‘Karma Police’ was the chosen closer with the audience singing their lungs out to the final line, “Phew, For a minute there I lost myself”. Lost only for minute, smiling faces meant heads were found the Easy Star All-Stars having done a stellar job.
