Sunday: Broken Bells on The Deer Park Stage

The Shins’ lead singer James Mercer and renowned producer Danger Mouse (a.k.a Brian Burton) have collaberated to form indie rock band Broken Bells. They were joined on stage by five other band members to perform a selection of songs from their debut self-titled album to a smiling and swaying audience.
Debut single “The High Road” with its bliss-soaked, chilled out sound was an instant crowd pleaser. The set also included, somewhat poignantly, “Insane Lullaby” a track that both Mercer and Burton worked on together with Mark Linkous (a.k.a Sparklehorse) who died earlier this year, for the album ‘Dark Night Of the Soul’.
