8pm – 5am

For this special event Reggae Roast founders Moodie & Exel have put together one of their most exciting and dynamic line-ups ever including UK garage / dubstep pioneer EL-B featuring MC Rolla, the mighty Channel One Sound System, UK hip-hop legend Daddy Skitz and selector Mark of Solution Sound. This incredible group of artists will satisfy every aspect of a New Years Eve vibe, catering for a roots and culture warm-up and explosive 2-step workout to conclude the night. This is sure to be an unmissable night with good vibes guaranteed and a serious party atmosphere.

El-B

El-B originally made his name as part of the legendary Groove Chronicles outfit, being the first artist to bring a dark edge to UK Garage with tracks like ‘Stone Cold’ and ‘1999′. Through his own Ghost Records imprint, El-B has sculpted and defined the modern dubstep sound and famously inspired the prodigious talent of Burial and countless others. Reggae Roast are blessed to have him onboard, expect a special NYE set filled classic Groove Chronicles Selections and upfront dubplates including exclusive collaborations with Burial.

Channel One should need no introduction, having been one of the UKs leading sound systems for 30 golden years. Having just earned themselves the title ‘Champions of the Redbull Culture Clash’, seeing off competition from the likes of Skream, Benga and Metalheadz, they will be returning to Reggae Roast to lift the spirits of the people marking the start of the new year. Controller Mikey Dread will be dropping his usual heavy selection of new and old conscious Roots & Steppers, while Ras Kayleb supplies Rastafarian chants in the way only he can, with positive vibes for 2011.

Daddy Skitz

Taking over room 2 for the night will be UK hip-hop legend Daddy Skitz, providing his unique party blend of hip-hop, drum and bass, dancehall and reggae. Having produced countless classics for artists such as Roots Manuva, Rodney P and Skinnyman and hosting a weekly show on Radio 1Xtra, there is no man better suited to host the upstairs session with his contagious party style.
