Unique indie quintet Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti play the Deer Park Stage
August 5th, 2011 by Jen
The bizarre and brilliant quintet, composed of zany Ariel Pink and his worshipping Graffiti artists, set the late afternoon crowd alight with their 70s pyschedelic garage rock.
Opening with Round and Round, the group blazed through their energetic and intense set, songs mostly being played from hit record Before Today.
APHG are a typical Beggars Group signing – awkward, gritty, uncomprisingly talented. Whether you like them or not, they are a unique sound channeling the past and present with original results. They may be without genius John Maus but the band seem to be performing with a satisfying elixir of eccentricity still. 4AD did good with this one.
