We caught up with Lol just after his set at the Big Chill/Finlandia cocktail bar for an as-it-happens quote...How was that?

Lol Hammond - Biography
Big Chill Recording's very own Lol Hammond almost needs no introduction. But here's one anyway...
Born in North London in 1965. Multi-instrumentalist, Lol began making electronic music with legendary renegade sound system 'Spiral Tribe' in 1991. Around the same time, he formed the 'Drum Club' with London DJ Charlie Hall. They also started the acclaimed club of the same name. They released three critically-acclaimed albums and went on to tour the world extensively with the likes of Orbital and Prodigy. Early singles on renowned label, Guerilla Records 'U Make Me Feel So Good' and 'Alchemy' (complete with Orbital mix) have become something of club anthems over the years. He has remixed a number of acts over the years including 'Alabama 3', 'The Fall', 'Jah Wobble', 'Lush', 'Curve' and punk legends 'Killing Joke' twice.
He has also had music featured in many movies including 'The World is Not Enough', 'Southwest 9' (which also features a cameo appearance), 'Halloween', 'Football Factory' and soon to be released Brit classic, 'It's All Gone Pete Tong'.
He now records under his own name and his last release was the more chilled 'All This Is Bliss' on the Big Chill recordings imprint. There was a collaboration with the incredibly gifted Roger Eno, titled 'Damaged', released on the All Saints label in 1999. There is also a collaboration with legendary producer/ambient guru, Brian Eno in the can and ready to go. Lol has also completed a new EP - 'Piano Lessons' - which will be released on Big Chill Recordings this year.
Obsessed with film from an early age, he has worked as a music supervisor for exciting British production company, Vertigo Films for the past five years. He has been music supervisor on four feature films to date: 'Southwest 9', critically acclaimed Brit flick, 'Football Factory', Danish movie 'Pusher 2' and the aforementioned, soon to be released, clubbing classic, 'It's All Gone Pete Tong'.
Lol now combines DJ'ing all over the world and music supervision with writing and production.
At this year's festival - Lol will be programming The Big Chill Recordings area on Saturday night. When asked what we can expect, Lol says 'expect super sexy sensual funky fun'.
