Burt Latino - Artist Profile
Burt Latino Biography"The happiest silliest bounciest dance all weekend! " this quote from the Big Chill forum after a set at the Big Chill festival perfectly sums up what the Burt Latino stage show is all about. Following a series of very successful shows last sumer including a Castle stage set at the Big Chill and other festivals in the UK, as well as a string of other choice gigs across Europe including supporting Coldcut at the Springsix festival in Austria and a mini tour of Slovenia, the Burt Latino stage show has now become a firm festival favorite for many.
Burt is a self confessed Deranged Idiot, "Life is way too short to take anything too seriously, especially yourself!" He also applies this same tongue in cheek perspective to his music. Burt has never been one to follow music trends or fashion. In his eyes "fashion is for gullible morons" and on being asked how he would describe his sound, "It's big fun, uplifting, optimistic music for free thinking children of all ages, guaranteed to bounce your bottom and a put a rather large smile on your face!"
However life has not been and fun and games for Burt over the last couple of years, constant pain from a Heffalump Polo injury ten years ago has driven the poor chap perilously close to insanity. However we are now very pleased to report that after an extended holiday in a Lunatic Asylum and intensive therapy Burt is now much better and free to roam once again out in the wild and is currently in the studio, finally putting the finishing touches to his long awaited "Sex & Drugs & Squeaky Toys" album project.
Was it a nice holiday Burt?
"Yes very pleasant thank you, I must admit though there have been many times recently I wish I was still in therapy, the people in Chumlies were so genuine and a hell of a lot nicer than some of the competitive nutters out here in the real (?) world, I am sure you would agree Harvey."
You are bit peculiar are you not, Burt ?
"Yes I guess I could to some be perceived as being a bit odd, thank goodness, who the hell wants to be normal! I see it as a positive sign of my individuality as well as being part and parcel of possessing a free thinking mind living in a gutter press led society full of socially conditioned people that are having their mind controlled by the popular consensus of the socially conditioned people that are having their mind controlled by popular consensus, if you know what I mean?" (scratches head)
So what's on the cards next for you after you have finished your album project?
Well there be much work to be done for me and my Pookas. I am currently working on developing fresh visuals for all the tunes from the album and will soon be back out there again with my happy positive vibes, bringing some much needed fun and joy to many peoples lives.
