The second annual Radio 1 Gilles Peterson Worldwide Music Awards will take place at KOKO on Dec 12th.
The awards are a celebration of all the best new music that has come through in 2005 on Gilles Peterson's 'Worldwide' show on Radio 1, and will feature special performances from some of the best new acts championed by Gilles.
The evening will be hosted by Gilles Peterson and Earl Zinger, with guest performances from Japan's Soil & Pimp "Sessions" and special live guests to be announced soon.
Also 'The Worldwide All-Star Selectors' a mighty collective of more than 20 DJs playing their favourite Worldwide records of the year, climaxing with Gilles Peterson spinning the number one 'Track of the year' as voted by Radio 1 listeners.
DJs include Jazzanova, Bugz in the Attic, Norman Jay, Patrick Forge, Benji B, Quantic, Toshiro Matsuura, Domu, Charlie Dark, Mad Mats, Henrik Schwarz, Skitz and many more.
The awards will be broadcast on Gilles Peterson's Worldwide show on Radio 1 on Sun 18th & The Worldwide All-Star Selectors DJ sets will be broadcast on Sunday 25th December, both at 11pm-1am, listen again online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
