
Lol Hammond Does London To Brighton
If you've been following Lol Hammond's career over the last couple of years, you'll know that as well as making beautiful music himself, he finds and comissions music for Vertigo Films - one of the leading lights in the Britflick industy. His projects have included It's All Gone Pete Tong, Dirty Sanchez. His latest project is about to hit cinema screens in the UK.'London to Brighton' goes on general release on 1st December, but has already won a clutch of awards at film festivals, including Best New Director at The Edinburgh film festival, Best UK Feature at the Raindance Film festival and Hitchcock D'Or Prize at the Dinard Film festival.
Reviews have been showering it with praise, including 'It's audacious, exciting film-making. A dazzling debut.' from Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian, 'A fantastic achievement on every level' from The Scotsman, 'Outstanding, hard-hitting thriller' in The Times and 'Get Carter for the 21st century. Excellent' in The Observer.
High praise indeed, and if all the prizes and praise weren't enough, Lol is very excited about the soundtrack, including as it does music by Plan B, Scratch Perverts, Roger Eno and Lol himself. The score is by Laura Rossi and was orchestrated by the Prague Philharmonic.
