What's He Up To?... Lol Hammond

As 2007 gradually wakes up and starts getting on with it, we catch up with movie music mogul, compulsive cap wearer and doting dad Lol Hammond tell us about his plans for the year...

Happy New Year! How did you spend Xmas and The New Year?
I spent xmas with my wife's family in west London, it was a corker with my son Arthur having an absolute ball! He will be two years old next month. He is already a total geezer. For New Year's Eve we were with friends locally in the Dulwich area we had a total ball. Last year was a very busy and productive year. I was music superviser on four feature films!

How do you feel about 2007?
Very excited - to be honest, totally buzzing! I love the number seven so its great to have that popping up in there.

What musical plans have you got for the coming year - gigs, writing, recording, collabs, releases etc?
The next movie coming that I was music superviser on is Nick Love's (Football Factory/The Business ) Outlaw featuring Sean Bean, Danny Dyer, and the legendary Bob Hoskins. After that is the release of "Sparkle" in April. Sparkle features Bob Hoskins, Leslie Manville and Stockard Channing. Leggo Beast and I recorded three songs with lead actress - Leslie Manville - for the film. There will be an amazing psychological thriller titled "Waz" coming out in September. This month sees the DVD release of "Dirty Sanchez" and in March the critically acclaimed "London to Brighton" is released - I was music superviser on both of these exciting films. I am compiling the "London to Brighton" soundtrack at the moment. "London to Brighton" features a collaboration with myself and the very talented roger eno. Roger and myself started recording together again over the xmas period up at his place in Suffolk. We worked on two tracks and we are both very pleased with the results. Hopefully we will be doing more of that this year. Lindy Layton amd I are both very excited about our "Lemon Entry" night at The Big Chill house too. Hopefully see you down there !!! I'm hoping to get some new music out on Big Chill recordings this year. The last official release was my "Piano Lessons" ep.

What will you be up to apart from music?
Hanging out with my little son Arthur and my beautiful wife Caro. Also watching lots of movies and taking in as many footie matches as possible.

If everything goes according to plan for you in 2007, 2008 will be all about..... what?
Would love to step up and produce or direct my first feature. I've got lots of ideas! I also hope to record more music - I really want to get in the studio more.

What are your predictions for this year?
For us capricorns its looking quite sexy! Throw the number seven into the mix we could be looking at a potenial corker. Be great to see the back of Bush and Blair and I predict this will happen this year (fingers crossed ). Green issues will come to the fore which can only be a positive thing. Love , peace and lollipops

Cheers!
