Max Hattler
Max Hattler graduated in Animation from the Royal College of Art in 2005. His films have been screened internationally, including Resfest, Sarajevo, Edinburgh and Annecy. He is a visiting tutor at Goldsmiths College in London and at Volda University College in Norway. As a VJ he has performed live across Europe and the US, and has created promo videos for several bands.Max is interested in the space between abstraction and figuration, where storytelling is freed from the constraints of traditional narrative. His work contemplates microcosms, moments, atmospheres: Close-ups as reflections on the big picture. While his films tend to be without dialogue, they explore the relationship between sound, music and the moving image.
