CLub De Fromage

Club De Fromage

The Legendary Fat Tony is proud to bring his latest venture ‘Club De Fromage’ to The Big Chill, bringing back the days of dancing round your handbag and feeling slightly ill after one too many Babycham.

Your host Fat Tony is a legend on the club scene counting amongst his friends Peter Stringfellow, Tony Blackburn and Fern Britton, he is rarely out of the papers, it is said that he is to clubs what Nicholas Van Hoogstraten was to slum housing. Back now, after he was framed when his last club 'The Bridlington Palais' mysteriously burnt down and the unlucky Tony received a three stretch at HMP Holloway, he returns with a brand new club which in true Tony style will be a beacon to all sophisticates of style.

Tony is aided and abetted in this doomed enterprise by his son Slow Alfie and long suffering sidekick Alan Martini, a former member of the gentry, whom Fat Tony seems to have a strange hold over. Spinning the disks will be Skinny Jim who is joined by faded air guitar legends Lucifer’s Grandmother, re-united once more due to being hounded by the CSA.

Lucky punters get a chance to join in 'Fat Tony's Big Meat Raffle', with the winner walking away with a deluxe, Family sized, 'Sainsbury's Basics' chicken pie.

Behind all the characters are promoters Carl Hill and Mike Toller who have been involved in many clubs larger and small over the years. As Hill says, 'This night is a composite of all the weird and wonderful clubs I have worked in over the years and all the raging egos I’ve bumped into. Let’s face it clubs and the people who work in them are often pretty dysfunctional, myself included I hasten to add. We often think it really all matters, I remember one guy I worked with saying to me, ‘look at this, the coolist night in London. All I could see were loads of fat people, dancing badly, trying to drink themselves into oblivion and have a fight. At that point one of the fat people was sick on me, I was left wondering if my definition of cool and his varied... Thus this sideways tribute to all that is wrong and right in the emporiums of sweat we call nightclubs. They may even have had the bogs fixed by then...

So join the gang as they play anything and everything in an attempt to get you dancing and the bars tills ringing, before the Health and Safety closes it down. Expect tunes from the likes of Spice Girls, Jason Donovan, , Kylie, Guns and Roses, The Killers, Bee Gees Right Said Fred, Elvis & Ace of Base. As Fat Tony says, 'If it smells of cheese it must be Club De Fromage'.
