Phil N Dog
Cut n’ shut duo Phil n’ Dog met at an Orbital concert back in 2000 and found they shared a common musical interest, particularly in electronica and the mash up scene. The pair started working together in 2003 and created their first mash up “Gay Muppet Bar”, a comic mix of Electric Six’s “Gay Bar” with “The Muppet Show Theme”. The track spread across the internet like wildflower and gained airplay on shows like the XFM Remix. Inspired by it’s success, they have continued producing mash ups of both a comic and serious nature.In 2005 they created their biggest hit to date. Some months after handing MYLO a copy of their bootleg “Doctor Pressure - Mylo Vs Miami Sound Machine”, they were contacted by his label who wanted to release it officially. The track went to number 3 in the UK charts, and as high as number 1 in other parts of the world. It was accompanied by a mash up video produced by AV masters Hexstatic. Hexstatic have also since produced a video to “Gay Muppet Bar” which has proven to be a popular addition to their sets.
Phil n’ Dog continue to mash up and remix other tracks and also to DJ, so expect to hear some tracks as you’ve never heard them before.
